Bring your old Cisco video devices back to life.
OpenCollab is a free, open-source desktop app. It finds the Cisco room systems on your network, gets them registered and calling again, and gives you one place to manage them. Nothing in the cloud. No subscription.
Download macOS, Windows and Linux. Packages are on GitHub Releases.
Who it's for
People who own Cisco video hardware that Cisco has moved on from. A Room Kit or Board 55 that can't upgrade past RoomOS 11. A DX80 bought for pocket change. A small office, a school or a church that inherited a room system and has no Webex subscription to go with it. The hardware is built to last a decade; OpenCollab lets it.
What it does
- Finds your devices. Scans the local network for RoomOS endpoints, or listens for them to announce themselves on boot via DHCP option 242.
- Registers them for calling. One click sets
Provisioning Mode: Off, hands the device a SIP account on the registrar built into the app, and it shows Registered. Device-to-device calls work from there, media end to end. - Edits any setting. Every one of the 2,249 xConfiguration nodes, searchable, with Cisco's own description next to each one.
- Keeps a fleet consistent. Templates you apply across devices, and a drift report when one wanders.
- Upgrades firmware offline. Upload a
.copimage; devices pull it from your machine. No internet needed. - Backs up and restores. Full configuration capture and replay. Identity and network settings are left alone.
- Puts meetings on the screen. Any ICS or CalDAV calendar becomes a native Join button on the device. Webex meetings dial directly over SIP; Zoom, Teams and Meet dial directly when the host has an interop address.
- Shows you what's happening. Live status, call history, people count and room sensors, and a Prometheus endpoint if you want it in Grafana.
Which devices
| Software | Models | Status |
|---|---|---|
| RoomOS 11 | Room Kit, Room Kit Mini, Room 55, Room 70 G1, Board 55, Board 70 | Works. These can't upgrade to RoomOS 26, and they're most of what's on the used market. |
| RoomOS 26 | Desk Pro, Room Bar, Board Pro, Room Kit EQ | Works. Validated on a Desk Pro. |
| CE 9.15 | DX80, DX70, SX10, SX20, SX80, MX200, MX300, MX700, MX800 | Same xAPI; hardware validation in progress. If you have one, say so. |
Not a Control Hub replacement
If your devices are under a Webex subscription, Control Hub is the right tool and OpenCollab isn't trying to be it. OpenCollab is for what comes after: end of support, a lapsed subscription, a used purchase. It talks to devices through the same documented xAPI Cisco publishes for everyone, and it all runs on your own network.

Running it on a server instead
The server install adds TURN for devices behind NAT and a media gateway for meetings without an interop address. One command on any Linux box:
git clone https://github.com/lutztalk/OpenCollab.git
cd OpenCollab/deploy && ./up.sh
